20-year-old from Swansea killed in Somerset highway crash being remembered as special person as services announced
We are remembering a 20-year-old who died in a local deadly traffic accident.
State Police officers from the Dartmouth Barracks responded to a motor vehicle collision on Interstate 195 west at the 9.6-mile marker in Somerset just after 2:00 a.m. on Friday, according to Massachusetts State Police.
One car was found in the median by troopers. EMS declared the operator, the only person in the car, dead at the scene.
Swansea resident Rylee O. Connor, 20, was confirmed as the deceased operator.
O Connor worked at Harvest Tap and Table in Swansea, where her pleasant demeanor and warm smile impacted the lives of both her coworkers and customers, according to her obituary. Beyond her job, Rylee lived life to the fullest and with joy. Her friends were her greatest treasures, and she had a particular affection for them. Rylee enjoyed shopping, going to the gym, spending time in Bristol’s Colt State Park, and making treasured moments with the people she cared about. Her friends knew her as someone who was always up for an adventure, and her lively personality and contagious laughter brightened any space. Along with her love of life, Rylee will be remembered for the warmth and friendliness she offered to everyone in her vicinity. She leaves behind a legacy of friendship, love, and happy memories that her family and friends will always cherish.

On Friday, December 13, 2024, at 10 a.m., family and friends are welcome to her Celebration of Life at the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. She will be buried in Westport’s Beech Grove Cemetery. The funeral home will be open for visits on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations in her honor can be donated to the Forever Paws Animal Shelter, located at 300 Lynwood St., Fall River, MA 02721, in place of flowers.
