Prosecutors Reveal Grisly Chainsaw Decapitation in Oklahoma as NYC Antiques Dealer’s Murderer Pleads Guilty
Alex Ray Scott, a 28-year-old trans woman from Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to the murder of NYC antiques dealer Kenneth Savinski. During a Manhattan Supreme Court hearing, new details emerged, linking Scott to a previous, gruesome killing in Oklahoma where she allegedly decapitated a man with a chainsaw.
Scott was arrested in January 2020 after killing Savinski, 64, in his Upper East Side apartment. The two had met on a dating app, but the encounter ended in a violent attack where Scott used a decorative plate, a kitchen knife, and “maybe a pen” to murder him. When she turned herself in, Scott reportedly told police she had no memory of the incident, saying, “I think I may have killed someone last night.”
While investigating Scott’s arrest in New York, authorities connected her to a 2017 murder in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, involving Robin Skocdopole, 63. Scott had rented a room in Skocdopole’s apartment and was found in possession of his credit cards when arrested for the New York murder. When police visited Skocdopole’s home after he failed to answer calls, they discovered his blood but no personal belongings. Further investigation revealed that Scott had killed and dismembered Skocdopole, using two different types of saws, including a chainsaw.
According to Oklahoma officials, Skocdopole’s remains were found in a nearby creek in May 2017, months after the murder. Scott had tried to explain Skocdopole’s disappearance by telling acquaintances he had left for Dallas.
In addition to her murder convictions, Scott is also facing charges for the alleged sexual assault of a 6-year-old boy in Oklahoma. Despite the brutal nature of her crimes, prosecutors praised the thoroughness of the investigation.
