Dog Who Didn’t Want To Go Back To Shelter After A Day Out Didn’t Know That She Was About To Be Adopted
Taking care of dogs and witnessing their dejected expressions when they discover they did not find their forever home on adoption day must be among the most difficult things for practically every shelter employee, in my opinion.
For many dogs, shelters may be a difficult place. They all deserve their happy ending, and even if they are loved and well-cared for, it’s never a permanent solution.
Some puppies, however, simply aren’t lucky enough and wind up spending much too much time with rescue groups.
Even while it’s heartbreaking to realize that’s how things work out, it’s not always that way. A sweet girl who spent a lot of time in the shelter, Franny also hopes to find a forever home in the future.
She was disappointed every time she thought she would see her new family, much like other dogs, but her life was about to take a radical turn.
Franny Is So Happy
Franny had previously been at a Pennsylvania shelter for four months.Although she had a lovely life there, her rescuers were always aware of her need for more.
She would frequently become depressed, particularly on their outings. When Danielle Baughman, a shelter employee, took Franny out frequently, she saw that she didn’t want to return.
She gets rather depressed because, I suppose, she thinks her caregiver is taking her to see a new family, but that isn’t the case.
On one occasion, a volunteer called Lindsay even took her outside, and she saw firsthand how dejected she appeared each time they returned.
Lindsay returned to the shelter and brought Franny over for a sleepover since she felt terrible for this adorable puppy. Spending time in her house made her very happy.
Lindsay realized then that she wanted to adopt her right then. Thus, they spent some quality time together the very next day.
After that, the two of them went to the shelter in Pennsylvania, and Franny got sad thinking she was going back, not knowing the surprise that was waiting for her.
After Lindsay signed the adoption paperwork, she was officially the owner of this adorable dog. When she realized she was heading to her forever home, she was ecstatic.
A Wholesome Reaction
For Danielle, moments like this are really cherished, andshe is always happy to see a sweet dog find his forever home.
So, she makes sure to record these sweet interactions with dogs like Franny because she hopes it would raise awareness about other dogs who need help.
And, it s safe to say thatit really did get a lot of attention onTikTokwhere people shared their thoughts on the entire event.
One person commented:I wish people would adopt the senior dogs and cats who round up at the shelters after their owners pass away. They not only lose their owner but their home. They are confused, scared and alone not knowing what s going to happen to them. Thank you for the loving heart you have for animals
This is a sentiment that I definitely agree with. Just because a dog is older doesn t mean he isn t capable of loving just as much as any other pup. They just need a chance to show it.
Another person said:I had my girl Lena for two days and I had to bring her back to the shelter so I could also sign her papers. She was so upset when we got there and so relieved when I brought her home. Still is!
It s good to know that Franny s story was not the only one.I am glad to see there are more people out there helping dogs like her find a forever home.
Lastly, somebody commented:Oh she was so sad to be brought back. And so happy to leave.
Without a doubt, the only thingFranny wanted was a chance to live a normal lifewith someone special, and she finally got that chance.
I am so glad her story has a happy ending and I hope it inspired more people to give pups like her a chance because they deserve it.
