Every dog in a shelter hopes to find their perfect home.
or waiting for them in a comfortable foster home, at the very least.
Unfortunately, this frequently doesn’t occur, forcing countless canines to live their entire lives behind four walls and in cramped enclosures for years.
Prior to meeting Elli, her ideal foster mother, Sky, a deaf Doggo Argentino, suffered a similar situation.
She Was Shutting Down
Sky’s life hasn’t been simple. She was taken to a shelter with her sister after living in a tiny crate for the first year and a half of her life, where she continued to suffer.
She suffered from living in a shelter. Sky’s condition started to worsen, and being deaf just made it worse.
SKY needs to leave the shelter where she is staying right away. On Instagram, Eli commented, “She is deteriorating.”
Elli couldn’t abandon Sky, even if she was taking a vacation from fostering and had three fully grown dogs. After hearing her story, she made the decision to foster her and provide for all of her needs.
When Elli discovered that Sky reminded her of her own deaf dog, Jasmyne, she fell in love with the adorable puppy immediately.
They started a new chapter in their relationship after driving to Elli’s dog farm in upstate New York.
But there was a tiny catch.
Waiting For A Forever Home In Her Very Own Home
At this point, Sky has her own house and her own (temporary) farm. Jasmyne, Elli’s other deaf dog, had to be put in a different arrangement because she unfortunately shows severe reactive behavior toward other dogs.
Although her new foster mother makes sure she doesn’t miss anything, she stays alone in a barn that Elli converted into a guest home.
Every day, the two spend around eight hours together learning sign language indications, social skills, and obedience.
Elli finds it difficult to leave Sky in a different home for the night, but this adorable Doggo Argentino girl doesn’t seem to mind.
In fact, Sky is so comfortable that Elli finds her sleeping in the strangest positions and locations.
From hiking and going to the pond with her mother to making all those wonderful friends along the road, Sky genuinely adores every aspect of her foster home in New York.
She gets along well with people and animals of all sizes.
SKY is great with humans of all sizes and ages, knows sign language cues, and is comfortable around other friendly, approachable dogs,Elli added.
Elli is confident that Sky will be a fantastic companion when the time comes. She has already come a long way, and it won’t be long until she wins over another person’s heart.
Hopefully, she will soon have a new family!
