Rescuers Heard Cries Coming From A Dumpster Only To Be Heartbroken By What They Saw

It didn’t take a good samaritan long to figure out that the unusual sounds emanating from a dumpster were actually the screams of a needy puppy.

They called Tullahoma Animal Shelter right away and let them know what was going on. Chris Cabral and David Reed, two rescuers, quickly went to the scene.

They looked inside the dumpster as soon as they got there, and what they saw devastated them.

Heartbreaking Scene

Inside a tightly wrapped white garbage bag at the bottom of the dumpster, the rescuers discovered a puppy that had stopped barking because it was unable to breathe.

Reed and Cabral swiftly grabbed a net and retrieved the bag from the dumpster, despite their worst fears.

When they opened the sack with trepidation and saw the pup’s condition, they believed it was too late.

He wasn’t crying, barking, or moving. Cheryl Rhoads, the animal control manager at Tullahoma Animal Shelter, told The Dodo that as soon as he started breathing, they called one of our vets to provide him with emergency care.

After being hurried to the veterinarian, Oscar, the puppy, received subcutaneous fluids, other necessary drugs, and a much-needed haircut.

This Yorkie weighed six pounds at first. However, his body weight decreased to four and a half pounds when the veterinarians removed all of the terrible matting from his small, frail body.

Finally, Oscar felt and looked better right away after being in a caring and healthy home.

New Life

Despite numerous offers, Oscar is not up for adoption because he is presently the subject of an ongoing inquiry to find out what really happened to him.

He did, however, end up as a foster pet with a caring family who are working hard to restore his full health.

And he’s really enjoying it!

Oscar is a bit of a snark. Sleeping under the covers is his favorite pastime. According to Roads, he also enjoys being held, but only when he wants to.

He enjoys burying himself in blankets for his naps, but he doesn’t particularly enjoy taking his medications, such as eye drops and ointment, or applying his infection cream to his butt.

His rescuers are ecstatic to witness him transform from a puppy who was essentially battling for his life to a happy, fun-loving adult.

The investigation will undoubtedly be concluded soon, and he will join a devoted family.

Oscar, good luck!

Final Word

Oscar, however, is not the only puppy who was brutally abandoned.

Owners leave countless animals on the streets, where they must fend for themselves to survive the terrible conditions of existence.

This isn’t the way, though!

Please give your pet a second shot at life by dropping them off at your neighborhood shelter if you are unable to care for them any longer. They are deserving!
