What immediately comes to mind when someone mentions the word “dog”?
Personally, I instantly see a joyful puppy sprinting through the park and greeting everyone they see. And this is often the kind of dog that finds a forever home within a few days.
Regretfully, some puppies lack the energy. They would rather sit in the corner and keep quiet, whether it is due to their personality or their difficult history. Sadly, this means that a lot of prospective adopters pass them over, which forces the puppies to stay at the shelters longer.
Perfect Timing
The McDonough Rescue, a foster-based rescue group in Los Angeles, is proudly owned by Kels McDonough.
She avoids the cheerful and active canines while she is searching for puppies to adopt. Instead, she chooses the corners for people who are shy.
She learned about a group of furry companions that were just a few minutes away from being put to death one day when she went to a packed shelter. Kels signed their adoption documents and embraced them from the bottom of her heart without hesitation.
She did observe, though, that Nash, a puppy, wasn’t doing well.
Nash started to shut down and experience despair as a result of the shelter’s noisy and stressful atmosphere.
Kels thought Nash would eventually come out of his shell, but that just wasn’t the case. This beautiful youngster clung to Kels even when he was at home, following her every step out of fear rather than a desire for attention.
Fortunately, Kels was so committed to helping this wonderful boy that she mustered all of her love and patience and gave it to him.
One Day At A Time
Seeking up ingenious ways to assist him, Kels made the decision to take Nash with her whenever she went on outings with her dog, Lou.
The three lovable buddies started traveling to different locations and taking in the most breathtaking scenery. However, Nash refused to budge despite this significant adjustment.
Until he simply began running one day!
It seemed as though he had at last realized that he had found someone who genuinely cared for him.
In addition to running, he started trekking and playing with his furry sibling and the Kels. The rescuer was ecstatic to see him change from a scared puppy to a content dog.
The two have remained inseparable ever since. Nash was always following Kels, which made her grin and giggle.
