Driver injured, charges pending, after reportedly fleeing from Dartmouth crash

Dartmouth, Massachusetts After a recent collision in Dartmouth, a driver will be charged.

At around 9:10 p.m. on Sunday, Dartmouth Police responded to a complaint that a gray BMW had collided with a telephone pole near 603 Potomska Road.

When they arrived, they saw that the driver was no longer inside the car and that the car had struck and damaged a telephone pole. The driver might have crashed into the adjacent woods, according to a witness. Soon after they arrived, officers located the motorist using a police drone.

Police identified the driver as Dartmouth resident Joshua Gallaudet, 41. He had minor injuries when he was taken to the hospital.

Based on the preliminary inquiry, it is believed that alcohol impairment could have played a role.

The Dartmouth Police Department is still investigating the incident, and charges have not yet been filed.
