Even if a dog has no behavioral or health problems, it might be difficult to find a forever home these days. The difficulties experienced by canines who are less fortunate and were born with specific problems are unimaginable.
Rescuers discovered a stray dog named Arnold wandering the streets and quickly took him to a shelter in Pontiac, Michigan. The staff at the shelter fell in love with him the moment he arrived. He immediately won everyone over with his silly, loving, daring, and inquisitive nature.
Unfortunately, they soon realized that he had certain problems brought on by careless breeding after noticing that he was different from the other canines.
Hilarious Encounter With The Door
The staff of the Michigan Animal Rescue League was both saddened by the new dog’s destiny and pleased by his determination to live life to the fullest in spite of all the challenges.
This magnificent dog was everywhere from the first day and was so curious and opinionated that it was simply amazing.
But the moment Arnold transferred to his new kennel most fascinated and delighted the volunteers and staff at the shelter.
In particular, a clear plastic dog door was erected for him by the shelter personnel, enabling him to enter and exit the kennel without any issues.
However, Arnold noticed a significant issue with this door, which piqued their interest so much that they even made a film of Arnold’s experience with the same dog door.
According to Tommy Sanfilippo, the content coordinator for the Michigan Animal Rescue League, Arnold was rather perplexed by his dog door, as reported by The Dodo.We attempted to lure him over with treats on the other side and even had a staff member slip through to reassure him that everything was fine, but he was still quite cautious.
But Arnold never gave up, and he never stopped searching for ways to defeat this awful door.
A Much Bigger Door Opened For Him
The following time Arnold encountered the plastic doggy door, he employed a different strategy. He chose to resist the door this time rather than only staring at it and lightly touching it.
He bit the plastic door as hard as he could with his teeth and waved his paws. He even entered his kennel multiple times before going back to his original location.
This incredible and funny scene was too good not to be captured on camera by the shelter staff. He most definitely did not realize at the time that this video would alter Arnold’s life.
But that’s just what happened as adopters fell in love with this unique dog.
“It’s cool to see interest in our shelter that could lead to some of our other animals getting adopted as well,” Tommy said, adding that there have been over 120 [adoption] applications so far. Of course, he can only go to one household.
Arnold didn’t want to give up even though he couldn’t pass through the door by himself. A much larger door—the door of a forever home—was opened for him by his perseverance and trust in the ultimate triumph.
