Family From Colorado Searched For Their Missing Dog For 2 Years And Then They Received Great News

Bear, a Colorado big St. Bernard mix, surprised his family when he ran away from his sitter.

His owner, Brandy Ross, had already struggled to temporarily part with her pet boi, but she was devastated to learn that he was truly gone.

Bear was nowhere to be located despite their desperate searches everywhere. As the months and years went by, this beloved family dog was reduced to a faint recollection.

They Never Found Him After He Went Missing

Bear would eventually find his way home, something Ross and her family could never have predicted.

This was particularly because their military obligations forced them to relocate to New York, which was just one more step away from a potential reunion with their dog.

In April, a bear escaped from a pet sitter. Despite posting in Facebook groups and filing missing person’s reports, his family was never able to locate him. As the military sent them to New York, they were forced to leave Colorado Springs without their cherished Bear, which is the worst part, HSPPR posted on Facebook.

The family didn’t get a call regarding their dog for two years until it eventually rang one day!

The rest, as they say, is history! One day, Animal Control, working with the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region, noticed this enormous dog close to a construction site.

Is That Bear?

They had a solid reason to think the spotted dog was Bear, even though they weren’t positive!He was only a few pounds lighter than the dog that had been reported lost.

But it wasn’t exactly easy to catch Bear.

Reluctant to remain in one area, this Colorado boi moved around. In an effort to better understand his travels, the HSPPR volunteers installed trail cameras and food stations throughout the area.

Finally, one day, a miracle occurred!

The doors closed when Bear entered a supposedly nasty trap and struck the light! The volunteer who located him, Danielle Neiner, quickly verified who he was. Yes, it was Bear!

This missing dog was now headed to a new life after the rescuers’ compassionate crew joyfully informed the family of the good news!

The crew brought him to the veterinarian, gave him a much-needed grooming, and showed him some love and care before he left for home!

These volunteers are taking care of everything while he goes home! The Humane Society said that they had already taken him to have a much-needed groom.

Heartwarming Reunion

Ross broke the news to his family with tears in their eyes. After more than two years of living on the streets, they were shocked to see that Bear was finally returning home.

Even more remarkable was the fact that he was in excellent health! He didn’t have any major problems, except from losing a little weight.

I was crying uncontrollably, and I’m still in disbelief that this is him. Ross told WKBT News that it’s “like so crazy that he survived for two years in the Colorado weather.”

Thanks to his rescuers, Bear was able to move into his New York home!

Thousands of people shed tears during the incredibly touching meeting between him and his mother.

Mom, I’m at home! The Instagram video said, “I’m so excited.”

Bear quickly identified his long-lost pawrents despite his confusion, and he is currently working toward a complete return to his former life.

Bear was given a second chance at life because of Danielle and the rest of the crew, and tales like his genuinely give us hope for people again!
