One important lesson I’ve learnt in my years of assisting stray dogs is that timing is crucial!
The work of a rescuer is made much more challenging by the fact that many homeless dogs live on the brink, often only hours away from the inevitable. Because of this, every second counts in life-saving missions!
Knowing this, the committed staff at The Animal Rescue Center Of California hurried to help when they got a report regarding a seriously injured husky that had become stranded by the Thermal, California, market.
Unfortunately, things didn’t work out as expected.
Heartbreaking Scenes
The good-hearted TARCC volunteer and his coworker sat in the car with the sole intention of helping the needy Husky.
We always find it difficult to come to this part of Thermal, but we traveled down since there was an injured husky in need of assistance.THEARCC shared a post on social media.
But as they were heading to the location, they noticed something quite tragic!
They found a number of other canines in addition to the one that did not fit the description. Additionally, they all had the trait of homelessness!
The dogs were all over the place. They were found near local marketplaces, on the ground, in the soil, and on garbage piles. Their lives were made intolerably difficult by their shortage of food and water. Additionally, several people were lying aimlessly, waiting for the inevitable, having tragically already lost their battles.
Locals claim that a large number of dogs in Thermal are neglected since their owners fail to spay or neuter them.
Dogs lack the conditions they need to live their best lives, and their owners choose to abandon them—a far more terrible option—instead of providing for them.
The rescuers carried on with their job despite being disturbed by what they had just seen.
Sandra was the woman who had first gotten in touch with them regarding the Husky, and they met her when they got to the market. Then a true heartbreak broke out.
After discovering the puppy, the kind crew discovered that the veterinarian had suggested euthanasia due to the pup’s severe and excruciating injuries.
That wasn’t all, though. They were about to believe that their drive had been in vain when a bunch of other dogs showed up in front of them.
The Sad Truth
Three more stray canines that were stuck close to the market and in need of assistance were reported to the crew by Sandra. Despite being denied a good existence, this heartbroken foursome held on to one another.
Unfortunately, because the TARCC crew was a small rescue, they could only accommodate one of themats at a time.
They picked up the smallest puppy and put him in the car after providing the dogs with a tiny taste of what their life ought to be like (via food and affection).
This adorable animal quickly found a foster home where he would receive the required care thanks to the local charity Rescue Lyfe. He will have a loving foster home and a foster parent for the first time in his life.
Even while the rescuers were aware that this was a minor win, they were nonetheless very saddened by their inability to assist every dog.
