Losing a dog may be extremely painful for anyone who has ever owned one. They are there for you one day, and then all of a sudden your life is completely different.
Your lovely animal friend is no longer with you. You wish they were, but it isn’t feasible. Everyone who has experienced this loss is aware of how difficult it is to try to move past it.
California law student Erin Yarbrough found herself in a similar predicament. Sonny, her best friend, died in an accident, and she lost him.
Erin feared she would never be able to move over his loss, even though it was extremely tough to process, but then something happened that made all the difference.
Meet Sid
Sonny was everything to Erin. She cannot express how much her puppy altered her life, and she was devastated by his passing.
“He was such a special light in a world that is often quite dark,” she told the Best Friends Animal Society. I frequently refer to him as my emotional support system. It’s a simple term, yet to me, he was everything. I was awakened by him. He was my bedtime companion.
Even though she was finding it hard to move on from her loss, she felt compelled to take action. She felt compelled to try to assist other pets for some reason.
She was aware that Sonny would want her to assist other puppies and provide them with an opportunity to find a new home and family.
“So many times he would get me out of bed when I was too depressed to move,” she adds. He would lick away my tears, you know. And he would make me feel so happy and at ease. I believe he was telling me that I must return the favor.
Erin made the decision to search the neighborhood for any canines in need of her assistance, and she discovered one.Sid was the name of the dog.
He was in California at the Best Friends Lifesaving Center. According to his web profile, he was a large dog in need of a foster home.
He Is A Very Compassionate Dog
Erin saw an excellent chance and went to pick him up with her boyfriend. She initially experienced some guilt. It seemed to her that she was taking Sonny’s place.
However, that was untrue. All that mattered was that she was merely assisting a puppy in need.
“He is very confident, not at all timid,” she remarked. He went into the kitchen and then returned. After giving me a quick glance and waving his tail, he sniffed around the couch. “Can I get on the couch?” he said. You can sit on the couch, I said.
Sid was not shy at all, despite being in his new foster home.He immediately made himself at home and made sure to inform everyone of it.
Erin offered him some goodies and some new toys. He appeared really content and relished the newfound attention he was receiving.
She changed Sid’s name to Spud after noticing that he snores as he sleeps. The loss of Sonny still hurts Erin, but Spud has made it easier to handle.
Spud said that the agony would be too severe at any point. Erin stated: If I’m crying, he’ll abruptly stop me and bring over this large rope (toy). Then he waddles off and returns with another item.
It’s quite touching to know that she has a dog like Spud that is supporting her through all of this, even though the anguish she is experiencing won’t go away anytime soon. I hope he finds a fantastic home because he is such a sweet and caring dog.
