Serious injuries were sustained in a head-on collision in Plymouth County this week.
The Hanover Fire Department sent Car 3, Car 4, Engine 1, Ambulance 1, Ambulance 2, and Squad 1 to the vicinity of 527 Webster Street for the two-car, head-on motor vehicle incident with reported entrapment, according to a social media post made shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
When personnel arrived, they discovered two patients—the drivers of each car—on the scene.
Hanover Due to severe but non-life-threatening injuries, Ambulance 1 was taken to a nearby trauma facility with an additional paramedic on board. Additionally, Ambulance 2 was taken to a nearby trauma center.
For the following 38 hours, Car 3, Car 4, and Squad 1 were manned by off-duty firemen as the on-duty team was whittled down to five members. Ambulance 2 was also transported with the help of off-duty personnel.
Investigations are underway on the crash.
