LONG BEACH: After being hit by a car whose driver had first fled the scene, a woman in Long Beach died.
According to Long Beach police Lieutenant Jonathan Cole, the crash happened in the 2700 block of Atlantic Avenue at 5:26 p.m. on Saturday.
Despite the paramedics from the Long Beach Fire Department’s best efforts, Cole stated the woman passed away at the scene.
He stated, “The preliminary investigation indicates that the pedestrian was struck by a car traveling south on Atlantic Avenue.” “The adult male driver of the vehicle initially fled the scene, but he later came back and assisted with the investigation.”
