In previous instances, he has actively sought comparisons to Elvis. During a rally in 2018, Trump shared an anecdote about his resemblance to a rock and roll legend during his childhood.
“I probably shouldn’t mention this, as I don’t want to come across as conceited, because I’m not, but people used to say that, aside from my blonde hair, I bore a resemblance to Elvis when I was younger,” Trump shared. “Can you believe it?” I’ve always seen that as a wonderful compliment.
It seems that Trump has a strong connection to the singer of ‘Suspicious Minds.’ Trump discussed potential candidates for his vice president with Sunday Morning Futures host Maria Bartiromo. Among those being considered are South Carolina Senator Tim Scott and South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem. He also mentioned the potential of organizing a rally in the South Bronx or Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Meanwhile, South Carolina Representative Nancy Mace, a staunch ally of Trump, held a rally in her state where she criticized former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley, who is Trump’s political opponent.
Despite the former president’s strong position as the frontrunner for the Republican nominee in the presidential election, he and his allies have intensified their verbal criticisms of Ms. Haley, a former Trump administration official.
On Truth Social, Trump shared polls showcasing his lead, spread rumors about her campaign, and posted an anti-Haley video ad.
The two candidates are set to compete in the South Carolina primary on February 24.
