Cybersecdn- The New York City Police Department (NYPD) has launched an extensive search operation to locate and apprehend 18 suspects believed to be involved in two separate violent incidents that unfolded in the heart of Times Square.
The first incident, occurring around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday on West 42nd Street, left a 17-year-old male victim with stab wounds to his lower back area. Law enforcement officers swiftly responded to the scene, where they apprehended seven individuals considered persons of interest in connection with the assault. The victim, identified as a migrant, according to the NYPD, was promptly provided with medical attention and transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Just two hours later, chaos ensued once again as a verbal altercation escalated into a physical assault on Broadway. In this second incident, a 28-year-old male victim was viciously attacked by a group of individuals, sustaining repeated kicks and punches to his head and face. Prompt police intervention led to the apprehension of three suspects believed to be involved in the assault.
The incidents have reignited concerns over public safety and security in Times Square, a bustling tourist hub and commercial district in New York City. Amidst the ongoing investigation, the NYPD is urging members of the public to come forward with any information that may assist in identifying and locating the remaining suspects.
