The desire to be adopted by a caring family is shared by countless cute animals who are compelled to remain in shelters.
Whether it’s playing, running, or simply lounging on the couch, all they want is to spend time with a human they can call their own.
Sadly, Echo has had far too many of these dreams.
Is There Something Wrong With Me?
A cute puppy named Echo was only a puppy when he initially came to the Valley Animal Center in Fresno, California. The shelter staff knew his stay would be short because puppies are adopted quickly.
They were correct, too.
He was on his way when a family completed his adoption paperwork a few days later. Regretfully, his narrative of sanctuary didn’t stop there. He was eventually sent back to the Fresno shelter, where he was left wondering why his forever family had decided they no longer wanted him.
Additionally, this occurred three more times. The cause for his return, however, is the most tragic aspect.
According to an interview with animal care adoption supervisor Ruben Whitney-Cantu, Echo is a young, energetic dog. We told each family that he would need a lot of enrichment and exercise, walks, and trips to the dog park, but each family claimed that they did not have the time to train or exercise him.
Additionally, Whitney-Cantu said that his second adoption lasted ten months, although his first lasted only eight. Tragically, his third adoption lasted only a few days since he was sent back after using the concrete rather than the grass to relieve himself.
Last but not least, he was adopted eleven months ago.
She claimed that although his previous owners allowed him some time to get used to his new surroundings, they were unable to manage him due to his excessive energy and a lack of training time.
Even though Echo has never met the individual, everyone he meets thinks he is seeing his best buddy because of his amazing personality. According to Whitney-Cantu, he gets along well with other dogs, has lived with kids, and is excellent on a leash and in a car for rides.
Looking For A Home
Echo isn’t doing well as a result of all of this back and forth between the shelter and his new homes.
Stress caused him to start barking, and he would become utterly afraid if he saw someone approaching his kennel.Considering how much he enjoys socializing outside, this is really startling.
Everyone at the shelter is working hard to help this adorable boy get over his tragedy and find a place where he can finally belong.
Since Echo is such a gregarious dog, there aren’t many obstacles for his new home. “Echo is not a perfect dog, but he will make a great pet and friend to someone out there with a little work, effort, and commitment,” she continued.
