A Massachusetts lady who was having trouble in Cape Cod seas was rescued by multiple authorities on Wednesday.

Officers from the Bourne Police Department reportedly arrived at the Cape Cod Canal shortly before 12:45 p.m. in response to a report of a female in the water.

When officers arrived, they verified that a woman was in the water and could not have made it to land by herself. The female’s distance from the coast and the tide made rescue efforts challenging.

The 31-year-old Wareham woman was pulled from the water and taken to a nearby hospital with the help of several organizations.

Unverified claims of a second person in the water were also made. Following an inquiry by the relevant agencies, it was concluded that no other people were in the water.

Although it was decided that the incident was not criminal in nature and was not an accident, authorities did not disclose how the woman got into the water.

Although Medflight was requested, the weather prevented it from operating.

The Bourne Fire Department, Massachusetts State Police, Massachusetts Environmental Police, US Army Corps, Harbormaster, US Coast Guard, Wareham Police, and Wareham EMS were all praised by the Bourne Police Department for their support in this rescue.
