Heimbach, who works as a guide at the Laurelwood Arboretum in Wayne, embarked on a routine hike near Skylands Manor, only to go missing, sparking concern among her family members.

Despite leaving her cell phone behind in her car, authorities swiftly initiated a search operation, deploying various resources such as quads, dirt bikes, canines, and aerial surveillance to locate her. However, the breakthrough in Heimbach’s whereabouts came when a vigilant Facebook user, having seen posts regarding her disappearance, spotted her on a Ring camera footage.

This observant individual promptly alerted the authorities, which facilitated a swift and successful resolution to the situation. New Jersey State Park Police Chief George Fedorczyk expressed gratitude towards the community for their involvement in the search effort, highlighting the importance of public engagement in such emergencies.

Missing NJ State Park Hiker

Furthermore, the successful collaboration among multiple agencies, including the New Jersey State Police, Ringwood Police, and various search and rescue teams, played a crucial role in Heimbach’s rescue. Heimbach was discovered in Sloatsburg and was subsequently transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern for evaluation.
