Thousands of animals in need are being saved because of big-hearted humans who don’t waste any time or money.

The U.S. Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston demonstrated their humanitarian side this time! At the Port of Houston in Texas, the team was performing their routine checks when they noticed an odd noise emanating from one of the containers.

They hurried to investigate the sound right away, and what they discovered turned out to be among the most amazing!

An Unexpected Discovery

From one of the containers stacked almost twenty-five feet in the air, Officer Ryan McMahon and his team heard what sounded like barking and scratching.

Given that there were currently over 10,000 containers at the terminal, the team was in the right location at the right time. An unexpected monster emerged from the container after it had been brought to the ground with the crane.

Somehow, this small, terrified puppy found itself in this metal cage.

U.S. Coast Guard Heartland posted on Facebook that a group of marine inspectors from U.S. Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston unexpectedly saved a life earlier today.

From one of the containers on a stack, they could hear clawing and barking. The team wrote that a dog appeared when they opened the door and dropped the container.

When the dog eventually emerged from the darkness, she appeared incredibly content and unfrightened. As though to express her gratitude for this valiant quest, she hurried to her saviors and melted in their arms.

Officials claim that the poor puppy was left without food or water for more than a week inside the container containing junked autos. The Coast Guard believes she was in one of the cars, even though it’s still unclear how she got here.

She would most likely not have survived if she had remained there for a few more days, thus it was a real miracle that she was discovered after this long.

Connie The Container Dog

She was then dubbed Connie the Container Dog, and she was taken right away to the nearby animal shelter before being moved to Forever Changed Animal Rescue.

Connie was exceedingly thin and weighed barely thirty pounds, despite her initial joy. She was put through a number of exams as soon as she got to the shelter. She unfortunately tested positive for heartworm.

At thirty pounds, Connie is a little underweight. She is naturally bashful and afraid of her new environment, despite her extreme sweetness. “We will be starting her on treatment as soon as possible because she is heartworm positive,” FCAR posted on Facebook.

In order to assist Connie get back on her feet as quickly as possible, the team will make sure she receives proper care.

She now has a second chance at life because of the combined efforts of giant-hearted people. Furthermore, Connie the Container dog will undoubtedly find a good home when the time comes.
