It is not often that you suddenly see a large opening in your garden fence’s vines. However, one Cincinnati, Ohio, couple experienced just that.
One day, Ruthie Johnson Smith and Drew Smith noticed a little patch of land covered in a dense growth of vegetation. They chose to observe the location for a few days because it was completely mysterious to them.
They were pleasantly astonished when, after much observation, they finally noticed who was pulling the vines.
The Sweetest Reason
Their young puppy, Caamp, was the guilty party. What most pleased his parents, though, was that he wasn’t tearing down the vines for no purpose.
Specifically, their dog was acting in this way because of an elderly dog named Owen who recently moved in with their neighbor.
These two didn’t want a fence and vine to keep them apart because they had a strong bond from the first day they met. Since there was nothing they could do about the fence, they tried to get rid of the vines and eventually succeeded.
Their bond grew stronger every day after that, and they never missed a meeting over the fence. Caamp and Owen went from being total strangers to becoming close friends.
These interactions were so touching to Drew and Ruthie that they decided to video one and share it on Instagram under the @caampstagram username.
The Smith family could not have imagined that this film would garner as much attention as it did, even though they were aware that it would. The majority of the many responses called for an update.

A Heartwarming Encounter
Drew and Ruthie made the decision to disclose the footage of Caamp and Owen’s interaction to Owen’s parents, who live next door in Cincinnati, Ohio, shortly after it became viral on Instagram.
These folks were ecstatic when they saw it, and they all readily decided to set up a meeting between their two canines where the barrier wouldn’t stand between them.
When both dogs were at last allowed to sniff each other and play as much as they wanted, it was an incredibly touching experience.
Their energy matched regardless of age, and both of them—especially Owen—were thrilled to be together at last.
