Elementary School Kids Celebrate Beloved Deaf Therapy Dog With An Unforgettable Birthday Surprise
Dogs are known to be the best friends of humans, but have you ever witnessed the opposite situation?
One of the few dogs that can claim to have many best friends is Cole, a deaf therapy Pittie mix, and he most certainly deserves it.
It is safe to say that Cole has formally earned the title of legend after serving his elementary school kids for seven arduous years. His little human friends made the decision to throw him a memorable birthday celebration because of this.
The Perfect Way To Say Thank You For Everything
Cole was adopted from a shelter more than seven years ago by Chris Hannah, a New Jersey public school music teacher. This deaf pit bull was classified as special needs back then, and people believed he wasn’t worth the hassle. Chris, however, didn’t think so.
Rather, he showed his new friend unending love and support, which eventually produced incredible outcomes. Despite his disabilities, Chris discovered that Cole was an extremely perceptive dog who had a great understanding of human emotions.
The rest, as they say, is history! Cole was certified as a therapy dog in the New Jersey primary school just a year later.
His favorite pupils wanted to give him the most amazing surprise ever for his birthday today!
His father honored him with a touching Instagram post before to the formal celebration.
The formal celebration then began!
In a cute dress, Cole was given the opportunity to travel in a birthday carriage all the way to the school hall for the first time.
Cole could never have guessed what was going to happen to him next. Dozens of pupils wearing party hats surrounded him as he entered the hall, singing “Happy Birthday” in sign language.
It’s sweet that they learnt how to sing the song specifically for Cole as a way to thank him for all of his good deeds over the years!
That wasn’t it, though!
Cole was given another surprise once the song ended.
His father gave him a great birthday cheeseburger, which was the ideal way to round off this wonderful party.
The Pittie was obviously as thrilled as a dog could be! Cole is a typically quiet dog, but during the day he was particularly lively and quite goofy. I mean, who wouldn’t be?
Therapy Is Not A Job, It s A Mission
Cole will undoubtedly go on with his mission, which has now become a part of who he is. Helping special needs students understand that disability is not an inability is the foundation of his therapeutic approach.
We set out to demonstrate to the world that a disability does not equate to incapacity, and in Cole’s case, it turned into a superpower. Chris posted on Instagram that “it was never planned, it just happened, one incredible moment after another.”
Even without a cape, he is a true hero.
