Fall River Police release name of victim in fatal pedestrian collision; remembered as sweet person

The deceased person’s identify has been made public by the police following an event that occurred in Fall River shortly before 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

At the junction of Plymouth Avenue and Nashua Street, Patrol Bureau personnel responded to a collision between a motor vehicle and a pedestrian, according to Lieutenant Matthew Mendes.

To aid with the investigation, the Major Case Bureau, Crime location Unit, and Accident Reconstruction Team were sent right away to the location.

With injuries that seemed to be life-threatening, the pedestrian was sent to a local hospital. Tragically, the victim passed away from her wounds in spite of the medical staff’s best efforts.

Scanner broadcasts indicate that the driver was assessed and remained on the site.

The department is extremely saddened to announce that Leliane Amado of Fall River has been identified as the victim of the deadly vehicle accident, Sergeant Ross Aubin said on Friday.
