Lieschen O’Neill visited the Lawrence Humane Society in Kansas a few years ago merely to take a look, but as Lieschen herself states, no one visits the Humane Society merely to take a look.
As promised, Lieschen eventually fell in love with a dog and brought her home. She gave this puppy the name Belle, and it really changed her life.
Belle is not your typical rescue dog, you see. People adore her even more because she is so distinct from any other dog they have ever seen.
Meet Belle
Belle’s family began to notice a change in her when she was approximately a year old and gradually reaching adult size.
She always had a somewhat odd appearance, but it became increasingly noticeable as she grew older.
Her eyes had an intriguing quality that often gave the impression that she was astonished or surprised.
Belle’s folks took her to the veterinarian shortly after they saw that she was a little strange.
After examining her eyes and face, the veterinarian concluded that Belle had most likely become lodged in the birth canal during the delivery procedure, causing her muscles to be pulled back and grow slightly differently.
For that reason, everything was somewhat retracted. Belle’s mother told We Love Animals that although her eyes appear a little bug-eyed, everything is there and she is completely healthy.
They have some prescription dog eye drops to give her when she needs them, but occasionally her eyes get a little dry.
She simply has a distinctive appearance, and everything else is excellent.
Unique And Beautiful
Belle was in her kennel when Lieschen first entered Lawrence Humane Society years ago, but she immediately rushed up to greet them and pressed her tiny face against the door.
She wanted to be petted and was quite animated.
We knew we were going home with Belle when she simply leaped up on my lap and licked my face. “It was a fantastic day,” Lieschen remarked.
They currently find it impossible to envision their lives without Belle. Since her adoption, she has played a significant role in their lives.
Despite Belle’s slight differences, they believe she is the best dog they could have ever wanted.
Belle is the greatest dog overall, a great buddy, and a terrific listener.
Slippers are the one item that Belle adores the most.
She loves to take slippers around since she loves them so much. According to Lieschen, she might pick up one, two, or even three slippers to see how many she can put in her mouth and simply carry around.
Belle is a typical dog who enjoys snacks, sleep, being patted, and of course, her family, save from her unusual appearance and her penchant for slippers.
