Police claim that a gunman was taken into custody after firing at a helicopter and wounded five people in a residence in the Los Angeles area.

An individual who is 61 years old was taken into custody on suspicion of shooting and wounded five individuals at a residence located in the Los Angeles region, and then firing at a police helicopter after shutting himself inside the residence, according to the authorities.

A house in San Fernando was the location where officers arrived shortly before 11:30 p.m. on Saturday and discovered four victims who had been shot, according to the police. ABC 7 said that a fifth fatality was discovered at a hospital later on, and the San Fernando police established that the individual had driven himself to the hospital.

The man allegedly locked himself inside the house and fired shots at a helicopter belonging to the Los Angeles authorities Department before being brought into custody, according to the authorities.

As of Sunday, there was no information available regarding the suspect’s relationship to the people who were shot. In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, no additional information regarding the victims’ circumstances or the sequence of events that led up to the shooting was made public.

A number of crimes, including attempted murder and shooting at an airplane, could be brought against the individual. He was held on bail in the amount of $9.8 million.
