Hope For Paws frequently embarks on wild rescue missions to save the lives of animals, but this particular rescue is undoubtedly one of the most difficult this well-known animal group has ever undertaken.
An urgent email concerning weak kitten sounds emanating from a homeowner’s wall was received late at night by Hope For Paws, California.
The two rescues, Loreta and JoAnn, as well as Eldad, the organization’s founder, promptly set out to look into it.
There was no sign of life, and they had no idea that this rescue would prove to be quite difficult.
Babies In The Wall
Around midnight, the rescuers reached the man’s home and discovered that the homeowners had heard frantic kitten cries, but that they had abruptly stopped eight hours before to their arrival.
They quickly became extremely concerned that the small animals trapped in the wall were, regrettably, no longer living.
Eldad remarked, “I thought they had already died after eight hours without making a sound.”
It was an extremely confusing and worrisome scenario. Before they could make a hole in the wall, they had to get permission.
We had to request that the owners destroy his property because this rescue was extremely difficult and there was no sign of life, the rescue stated in a Facebook post.
Shortly after arriving, the three rescuers began making holes in the wall while armed with masks and flashlights.
They tried to lighten the situation by discussing the bizarre items they discovered behind the walls because they felt awful for damaging the man’s belongings.
They had to dig a bigger hole because when they first used their camera to peek inside the wall, all they could see were some very old newspapers.
They were on the verge of abandoning the property, but they were unable to see anything.
Loreta’s keen eye caught a glimpse of movement as they were ready to depart. The kittens were living!
Two little kittens, around two weeks old, were successfully extracted from the wall by the rescuers after they drilled yet another, bigger hole in the living room.
The rescue added, “We made sure there were no more kittens in the wall.”
A Wonderful Rescue
Everyone couldn’t figure out how the kittens got inside the wall, but the rescuers had a theory.
In their article, they stated: We think they fell 15 feet from the attic to the ground. After that, the mother moved the siblings, and the homeowner never saw her again.
JoAnn fed the kittens sugar water to increase their blood sugar levels when they were safely outside the wall. The fuzzy babies were actually saved by her incredible abilities.
They claimed that the outcome was just spectacular when she became their mother and bottle-fed them for the next eight weeks while also keeping them warm and clean.
The male kitten was named Dagwood, and the female was named Blondie.
The two kittens will be fostered and placed in a permanent home by the Kitty Bungalow Charm School for Wayward Cats.
Despite the lack of an official statement, I am convinced that the two adorable babies have found their forever home and are growing up contentedly and healthily.
Please support the incredible job that the Hope For Paws group doing in order to help them rescue more animals like these.
