Man Fatally Shot in Northeast D.C.: Police Investigating

Officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 2800 block of 7th Street, Northeast, around 1:19 a.m. Upon arrival, they found 46-year-old Towsend Reginald Sowell, a resident of Northeast, suffering from gunshot wounds.

Despite efforts, Sowell was pronounced dead at the scene by responding officers. Authorities have not yet released any further details about potential suspects or the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The MPD is actively investigating and urges anyone with information to come forward.
