Man suffering from multiple serious gunshot wounds after shooting in Bristol County

The Taunton Police Department is looking into the shooting death of a man early on Monday morning, according to Taunton Chief Edward Walsh.

Taunton Police arrived at Morton Hospital, located at 88 Washington St., at around 2:30 a.m. in response to a complaint of a gunshot victim requesting medical attention.

Officers discovered a 38-year-old Taunton man receiving treatment at the hospital for many severe but non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. After being stabilized, the victim was moved to a different nearby hospital to receive more care.

It is thought that the gunshot event took place near 31 Winthrop St.

Detectives from Taunton Police are still investigating the incident, and no other details have been made public.
