Adopt, don’t shopman is a saying you’ve undoubtedly heard a lot. The main benefit of adopting a dog is that it stops abusive breeders from abusing them, even though this is sensible advice to take into account for a number of reasons.

Each year, hundreds of dogs wind up on euthanasia lists due to backyard breeding. In actuality, very few people are fortunate enough to survive and begin a new life.

For many years, Pearl, a twelve-year-old Poodle, was a victim of these breeders. Pearl was brutally left on the streets once she was unable to bear puppies any more.

Pearl s Heartbreaking Backstory

Pearl worked for more than ten years at her breeder’s home in Florida because of the great demand for Poodle puppies. She was abandoned with several health problems because she was unable to produce puppies any more.

She is partially blind and deaf. Ryan told GeoBeats Animals, “We believe she was used as a breeder dog and then simply dumped when she couldn’t provide puppies anymore.”

In addition to being partially blind and deaf, Pearl had mammary tumors all over her abdomen. She ended up in a shelter with a high risk of euthanasia after being discovered as a stray in Miami, Florida.

Unfortunately, Venice, Florida-based True & Faithful Pet Rescue stepped in just in time.

Although Pearl had a lengthy recuperation ahead of her, she was timely spared from being put down. This adorable canine underwent multiple procedures in the next months. She was eventually put up for adoption following the removal of her breast tumors.

Nevertheless, Pearl’s age plus the fact that she was in her autumnal years made it extremely challenging for this lovely girl to find a foster home or an adoptive parent.
