Edwin McPeak Jr., a 39-year-old from New York, has pleaded guilty to multiple charges related to a bank robbery in Pennsylvania and a subsequent high-speed chase. The McKean County District Attorney’s Office announced McPeak’s guilty plea on Friday morning.

On June 6, McPeak robbed the Hamlin Bank in Edlred Borough, McKean County, using a handgun and placing two victims in fear of serious injury. After the robbery, he fled the scene in a stolen vehicle from Cattaraugus County, New York. This vehicle was already under scrutiny due to a BOLO (Be On the Look Out) issued by Cattaraugus County authorities, who had reported its involvement in a separate bank robbery in New York.

Following the robbery, Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Lewis Run spotted McPeak driving the stolen car and engaged in a high-speed chase. The pursuit ended when McPeak crashed the vehicle in the 1300 block of South Kendal Ave. in Bradford.

McPeak’s guilty plea includes charges of robbery of a financial institution with a firearm, placing victims in fear of serious bodily injury, theft from a bank, and receiving stolen property. He is scheduled for sentencing on November 7 in McKean County Court.
