Introducing Cecil, a Pittsburgh-born Goldendoodle who at the age of seven shot to fame throughout the world.
Have you ever pondered what it takes to suddenly become famous? Cecil knows all the secrets; just ask him.
Before he pulled off the feat of consuming $4,000 in cash, Cecil had been a good guy his entire life and had never really caused any trouble.
Yes, it is what you read.
This is how it all transpired.
Cecil Is A Good Boy
Cecil’s owners, Clayton and Carrie Law, claim that since he was a little puppy, Cecil has been a happy, well-behaved dog who has brought joy to their life.
To the amazement of his family, who have only now learned about this, Cecil does, however, have a very costly taste.
At their Pittsburgh home, Clayton Law and his wife, Carrie, made the decision to put in a new fence. They took $4,000 out of their bank account to pay the diligent workers and meet the project’s expenses.
The family put a sealed envelope with the money on their kitchen counter for a short while without giving it any thought.
But before they had a chance to put it away, Cecil got to it.
Clayton was completely taken aback when he walked into the room around thirty minutes later. Tiny pieces of money were strewn all over the floor, and the kitchen was a complete mess.
Clayton was so stunned and almost unable to speak that he was able to yell to his wife that Cecil had stolen the money.
Carrie told The Washington Post, “I rushed in, thinking I must have misheard him, but when I saw the mess, there was no doubt.”I feared that I would have a heart attack. Indeed, Cecil had done it.
Interestingly, Cecil has never been driven by eating, but it seems that he is driven by money.
After the unexpected financial feast, the couple’s first action was to call their veterinarian to ensure Cecil’s wellbeing.
Thankfully, Cecil’s size allowed the veterinarian to reassure them that he would be okay as long as he was eating, drinking, and using the restroom normally.
Money Laundering At Its Finest
After Cecil’s health was resolved, the couple needed to find a means to keep the money.
When they called the bank, the manager told them that the bank would make the replacement easier if they could reassemble the notes using more than half of the pieces and give the complete serial number on both sides.
The money pieces could only be retrieved in one way, and no, it wasn’t nice.
To retrieve as many bits of the money as they could, the couple spent the next few days sorting through Cecil’s vomit and number 2.
Carrie stated, “I never thought I’d be able to say I’ve laundered money, but apparently there’s a first time for everything.”
At least Carrie and Clayton were able to find humor in the whole event, even though they were permanently traumatized.
The bank manager surprised them by revealing that these kinds of situations happen pretty frequently. Money travels through many locations and exchanges hands, picking up different fragrances that many dogs seem to enjoy.
The pair miraculously recovered about $3,500 after carefully cleaning the money pieces and expertly assembling them.
In order to create a piece of art and frame it to honor the entire incident, we have retained at least one of the torn-up bills. Carrie added, “Not that we’d ever forget.”
The family is nevertheless adamant that Cecil is a remarkable and adored dog in spite of all the stress.
Animals can’t actually be held responsible for their actions. As if they were animals. They’re not acting malevolently or anything. “So, ever since that day, we’ve been laughing about it,” Carrie said on Good Morning America.
Carrie posted a video on Instagram that told the whole tale and included photos that documented the entire event. As soon as the post went viral, Cecil became a very well-known dog.
