An officer’s work never stops.
You never know when you’ll need to step in or when your help will be most needed.
A complaint of a poor animal stuck deep in a sewage drain presented the Huron Police Department in Huron, California, with their daily problem.
The department sent out a squad of policemen to assist as soon as they received the call. They hurried to the animal’s rescue after discovering a foul scenario when they finally reached the scene.
The Furry Baby Hardly Resembled A Pup
The California Police Department had a number of difficult interventions during the year, but one that was reported next to a Huron sewer drain stood out as particularly unique.
When Commander Fuentes and his coworkers, Sergeant Lopez and Officer Gonazels, arrived on the scene, they saw a tragic scene: a tiny dog pleading for assistance from inside the drain.
It was originally difficult to accept that the puppy was a dog at all because of its heavily smudged coat at the time of rescue. From above, all that was visible was a dark patch of fur that was hardly moving.
Immediately, the cops devised a cunning strategy to save the poor animal.
One officer wrapped both legs in plastic and walked cautiously inside to prevent himself from slipping into the drain. After a short while, he carefully lifted the muddy puppy and carried him outside onto the concrete.
The poor dog was naturally surprised by the experience, considering his first appearance, and took some time to calm down.
The youngster had clearly been caught in the drain for a considerable amount of time, however it was unknown how long he had been there. His coat needed a good wash because it was completely covered in gray and black mud.
On The Road To Full Recovery
The department shared a touching update later that day, reporting that the puppy had been safely rescued and was its route to a full recovery.
The dog is shown in their most recent image, cleaned up and sleeping in the hands of its caretakers.
News of the dog’s rescue spread across the nation, touching the hearts of thousands of others who shared the same sentiments. Without the kind actions of the committed team of cops, this admirable rescue would not have been possible.
We are honored to have such committed cops on staff, always willing to assist our four-legged neighbors. The Police Department stated in the post: Well done, team.
The Huron Police Department is committed to providing the community with the finest service possible. In the future, we hope the puppy will remain near its humans and stay out of harm’s path!
