Pregnant Pup Too Scared To Ask For Help Roamed The Streets Of California, But Then Something Amazing Happened
Like everyone else, this soon-to-be mother dog needed a little encouragement occasionally while straying through the perilous streets of Southern California.
For months, she searched for the ideal location to give birth to her children. Nevertheless, she kept going back to the same spot—the streets. The mother dog was in dire need of assistance, but she was too afraid to receive it when it came.
Rather, she never trusted even the kindest hand and fled from people all the time.
Neighbors Tried To Help
Suzette Hall, the founder of Logan’s Legacyrescue in Irvine, California, realized she had to take action after hearing about the dog. Hall and her generous group of volunteers were unable to let the mother dog give birth to her offspring on the streets by herself.
Knowing that this could be a difficult rescue, Hall drove right away to the specified location. The neighbors said that the dog was very traumatized and would not accept assistance.
Every time, she would escape in time to avoid coming into contact with anyone. However, she would constantly return to the streets to get nourishment.
The dog fled again when Hall finally caught sight of her. The California rescuer then made the decision to adopt a new strategy. She placed a humane trap with delectable food close by and waited for this kind mother to enter.
She wasn’t sure how the dog would respond, but a remarkable event occurred a few moments later.
She was obviously hungry and in need of food when she fell into the trap, yet she was safe the next instant.
If you glanced at her, she would run, but as I opened the can of chicken, she froze and started heading in the direction of my trap. We had her safe in no time,” Hall wrote on her Facebook page.
Here Comes The Litter
The dog took a while to settle in with her rescuers, but she finally showed her true self. She had no mean bone in her body and was a sweet, small mother.
The puppy found a safe haven with Alix Levy Smith at Second Leash On Life, thanks to Hall and her fellow volunteers. For the first time in what seemed like an eternity, she felt at ease and finally understood what love really meant.
Now let’s hear the drum roll! The mother chose to offer her five young children the most adorable present as a surprise to her caregivers the evening before Thanksgiving.
Look at this: she gave birth to four boys and one girl in a cozy home the night before Thanksgiving. Hall wrote, “Your family is gorgeous, sweet mama.”
This lovely dog was able to give birth to her puppies in a secure environment with affection and all she need for effective nursing because of the unselfish efforts of the whole team.
She is currently learning everything there is to know about being a mother and embracing her new role in life. She appears like a natural, I must say!
Mama, good luck! Happy nursing, too!
