Moose is evidence that dogs from shelters are not at all horrible!
Despite having a bullet wound to her lung and a dreadful beginning to her existence, this cute Pittie was determined to become everyone’s greatest buddy.
She was supposed to be put down the day before Micky discovered her story, but unfortunately, no one appeared to give her the opportunity to demonstrate her worthiness for adoption.
It was actually an extra kennel that saved her life in the end and prolonged her awful destiny!
Beating A False Stigma
Just in time, Micky, Moose’s current owner, discovered this adorable dog! She applied for the Pittie without hesitation after learning that she was going to be put down!
Five days after being placed on the bus from Houston, Texas, Moose found her Savior in Virginia!
The worst part of this was that Moose’s barking at another dog was the only reason she was classified as having behavioral euthanasia.
Micky told GeoBeats Animals, “It’s very sad because she was behavioral euthanasia, and all I saw in all of her staff notes was that she barked at another dog.”
In addition to all of that, Moose had already had an abortion and was shot.
She had heartworms and was treated when I acquired her, had an abortion, and had been shot (I only know this because we saw the bullet on her X-rays; it cannot be removed, but several veterinarians have stated it does not affect her or put her in risk), Micky wrote on Instagram.
She had a terrible first year of life and was unjustly branded, but Micky was willing to help her start over!
“Given how awful her first year of life was, I’m surprised that this dog wants to be everyone’s best friend,” Micky adds.
Moose The Sweetest Lovebug Ever
This pawdorable gal turned out to be the exact opposite of what she had anticipated—a lot of hard work! Micky deduced from her behavior in the house that she had previously had an owner who was completely potty trained and familiar with all the dos and don’ts.
She simply had the sweetest disposition, which was completely different from what Micky had anticipated from the dog that needed to be put down.
Micky came up with the idea to train Moose to be a therapy dog because she was in love with humans and other dogs and was picking things up rapidly.
She has been the greatest girl ever in spite of everything, and she keeps learning new things every day. According to Micky, she has made great progress and was the finest thing that could have happened to him.
Multipurpose Service Pittie In Training
Micky needed a trained therapy dog since he had mobility limitations, and Moose was the perfect fit! Micky first considered teaching this sweet girl because of her exceptional instincts.
She typically sleeps by my legs, but Micky says that if I’m having a bad day and don’t feel well, she’ll sleep up by my head.
She is currently working on her OFA certifications, but I have no doubt that this unique shelter girl will become a fantastic therapy dog!
After over a year and a half as a family dog, Moose’s relationship with Micky has never been closer! Almost inseparable, this amazing pair embarks on breathtaking adventures every day!
