Pup Who Spent Over 1000 Days At Shelter In Pennsylvania Is Struggling To Find A Forever Home

It’s difficult to find a home for a dog from a shelter. Many people disregard older pups entirely in favor of younger ones.

The workforce may find it quite difficult as a result. They will never give up on finding the elderly a family, although they don’t always succeed.

In situations like those, the best way to give a dog a second shot may be to reach out as much as you can and share their story on social media.

Meet Smokey

Smokey’s circumstances weren’t all that different. When he got to the Pennsylvania SPCA, everyone was very hoping he would quickly find a new home.

He appeared to be a really kind person who enjoyed interacting with almost everyone. When he first arrived, he was undernourished, but that soon changed.

With a healthy diet and a little perseverance, Smoky quickly became a stunning dog. They began searching for a new family for him after he had fully recovered.

His initial problems started here. In a statement on Facebook, SPCA stated: Smokey has been searching for a home for nearly four years. Not many people have inquired about him in the forty months that he has been waiting.

They were beginning to worry about him. Everything they tried didn’t seem to work. Despite their best efforts, the shelter staff was unable to find him a family.

Every employee there was aware that he wasn’t at blame. If given the chance, he would make someone very happy and was incredibly likable.

A Hope For Smokey

“I adore his intense devotion,” one volunteer told The Dodo. He gives me such devoted looks, and when we go for walks, he will often glance back at me to check in. With his rich brown highlights on his deep black fur, he’s very stunning.

The volunteer mentioned that Smoky truly enjoys taking walks in peaceful areas and investigating his surroundings while discussing his favorite pastimes. He likes to play tug-of-war as well.

The staff at the shelter is working to locate him a home where he would be completely accepted. Although he would likely choose a more tranquil residence, he has no trouble living in either an urban or rural setting.

It would probably be best for him to be the only puppy in the house, even though he likes to be around other dogs.

Even though we are unsure of Smokey’s future, SPCA Pennsylvania is still working hard for him and wishes him a happy, fulfilling life with a special someone.

“Smokey has so much love to give and it is pure,” they added at the end of the post. It’s time for a forever family to give him the same after all this waiting.
