Puppy Rejected By His Mom For A Deformity Makes Amazing Transformation Thanks To Georgia Rescuers
Make lemonade when life gives you lemons! Or, as Flipflop once said, “surmount obstacles in life with the sweetest smile!”
The Georgia rescue group Bosley’s Place shared a story about the amazing character and tenacity of a small puppy named Flipflop. This little Teddy Bear-like dog, rejected by his mother during the newborn stage because of his deformities, battled his way to recovery!
Then the greatest surprise of his life arrived!
An Inspiring Journey
Flipflop’s life did not begin well. This little furry ball was abandoned by his mother when he was just a few days old, leaving him all by himself.He was straining for every breath because of the abnormality in his front limb.
Then came the miracle!
The kindhearted bunch of rescuers from Bosley’s Place in Georgia made the decision to step in and improve the little boy’s life.
Flipflop began to make progress as soon as he was placed under care. He quickly grabbed hold of the bottle and began putting on weight every day.
The Bosley’s Place team posted on Facebook that, aside from the evident abnormality of his front left leg, he seems to be in excellent health and has a voracious appetite.
The excellent folks at BP kept tabs on his development throughout day and night. And this abandoned boi developed into a happy, healthy puppy in a matter of weeks!
At the rescue, he has already begun mingling with other puppies and forming new friendships. Flipflop quickly became the center of attention thanks to his incredibly endearing attitude.
He played with other dogs and relished every moment of his existence as though his past had never occurred.
However, his caregivers had one unanswered question. They weren’t entirely sure if they should have his leg amputated because of the deformity and the potential for infection.
And then, as Flipflop became older, the response arrived!
The veterinarian said that this small dog, who was actually a full-blooded toy Poodle, was healthy enough to go without surgery.
He’s moving around perfectly, it doesn’t affect him at all, and since he’s not a dog weighing over sixty pounds, he’s not dragging it and it’s not in danger of being infected, therefore he gets to keep the leg, BP posted on Facebook.
Flipflop In A New Home
Amazing news reached the rescue as soon as he was approved for adoption! As lifelong dog enthusiasts, Nikki and her family made the decision to bring Flipflop home.
When their little bud finally began a new chapter in his life, the BP staff was ecstatic. Additionally, everyone was relieved to know that he would be returning home with Nikki!
And this amazing family didn’t stop there! They made room for Griff and Henry, two additional special needs dogs, in addition to Flipflop (now Butters).
He actually has a beautiful family. BP posted an update stating that in addition to adopting Flipflop, who is now Butters, they also accepted TWO of our other special-needs puppies, Griff and Henry, who are now Hank.
With his brothers and the people he loves the most, Butters is ecstatic at his new home today. He’s at last where he deserves to be after a difficult beginning in life, and each day is an exciting new journey!
