Rescuers From Pennsylvania Found This Pup Who Was Left At Abandoned House After His Owners Move Out

For dogs, their human family is the most significant thing in the world.

The majority of them live their whole lives surrounded by affection and human presence. Therefore, it may be rather detrimental when this is taken away from them.

Regretfully, the dog in today’s story experienced precisely that.

Left Behind

The founder of Speranza Animal Rescue in Pennsylvania, Janine Guido, felt she had to go investigate when she received a report regarding a lost puppy wandering around Harrisburg.

When she eventually found the dog, she discovered him looking for food leftovers in a dumpster. He fled to the front porch of his former house in terror as Janine attempted to approach him.

He couldn’t understand why his family wasn’t opening the door and feeding him the way they used to.

The poor dog was unable to comprehend why they would simply relocate to a new home without taking him with them.

He jumped when Janine attempted to approach him once more and began scratching at the door in the hopes that someone would let him in.

He just wasn’t interested, even when Janine offered him some food in an attempt to get him to come in. Other than his previous existence and his humans, he didn’t even want to think about anything else.

It took a while for the dog to realize that no one was home and that no one would be opening the door.

He finally gave in when he heard Janine’s voice again, telling him that she was there to help.

It may sound silly, but I can assure you that he understood what I was saying. Janine stated, “He literally came over, sat down, and let me leash him.”

With tears in her eyes, Janine attempted to explain the situation to the dog and reassure him that he was now in capable hands while they were traveling to the rescue.

At The Rescue

It took the dog, who is now called Cupid, a while to comprehend what was happening.

Cupid was relieved to be surrounded by people and dogs who at last took an interest in him, but he was still unable to move past what had happened to him.

Since saving the day, he has been nothing but the kindest man. He’s still somewhat perplexed, as you can see. Nevertheless, he greets everyone with a wagging tail.

Cupid at the Pennsylvania Speranza Rescue is receiving excellent care. He was taken to the veterinarian as soon as he arrived for a comprehensive examination to ensure that he was as healthy as he was adorable.

He will be prepared to search for his forever home, where he will be loved and adored as he deserves, once all of that is completed.

He is the sweetest guy, so I don’t believe finding [a forever home] will be difficult.

Given how devoted and very gentle Cupid is, I too think he will quickly find a forever home.

But let this tale serve as a reminder that simply leaving your dog in this state is never acceptable. Your dog deserves so much more after all the time and affection he spends with you.
