For the rescue crew at Saving Hope Rescue (SHR), an animal rescue organization located in Fort Worth, Texas, saving animals in need is nothing new.

They search for fuzzy creatures in dire need of a helping hand and a warm smile throughout the day in their lovely metropolis.

They don’t typically conduct rescue operations outside of Fort Worth, but they picked up their equipment and set out after viewing pictures of a puppy living in a cardboard box.

Help Is On The Way

Even though it was a hard eight-hour travel, these amazing parents were eager to have their cute infant in a comfortable bed at nightfall.

After seeing a photo of the adorable girl in a cardboard box, Saving Hope Rescue posted on Facebook, “We had this sweet girl transported to the DFW area.”

The volunteers carefully loaded the puppy, who would eventually be named Ridley, into their vehicle and drove her to SHR’s clinic, where she was greeted with wide arms, delicious food, and lots of kisses.

Unfortunate News

Ridley was a small, three-month-old dog when the SHR crew came to her aid. She was a joyful, intelligent, and energetic puppy, but a thorough examination revealed to the veterinarians that she wasn’t quite as flawless as she appeared to be.

We found out she had a severe cardiac condition. According to SHR, Texas A&M’s balloon valvuloplasty technique was the only way to fix it.

Fortunately, Ridley was adopted by a caring foster family while she awaited approval of her treatment. They not only gave her a place to relax but also gave her a taste of what it was like to be a real puppy.

Her foster siblings and her new family told her that everything would be alright!

Three-month-old Ridley is a little, energetic puppy that adores all people and large dogs. She is incredibly intelligent and picks things up fast. She is a lively young child who is full of love! The letter that Ridley’s foster parents sent to SHR was later posted on Facebook.

While Ridley was having a great time at her foster home, learning basic commands, becoming proficient in communicating with other dogs, and discovering how much she liked playing with toys, the Fort Worth shelter worked tirelessly to raise money for her heart treatment.

Her hoomans were still worried about her heart, but seeing her joyful and lively gave them confidence that she was a fighter.

One Happy Life

It was finally the day after months of anticipation. Finally, Ridley had the surgery that saved her life!

Not surprisingly, this amazing puppy made it through the procedure without any issues and is already recuperating.

SHR posted on Facebook that “[With] this surgery, it will be a complete fix, and she gets to live a FULL life.”

In the meantime, Ridley is back at her foster home, telling her doggo friends what a courageous girl she was. She is anticipated to heal completely in no time.

I have no doubt that she will quickly find a loving, permanent home that is as amazing as she is once she is fully recovered.
