Many dogs experience some form of heartbreak at some point in their lives. If only that weren’t true, yet many puppies experience it worldwide.
The worst kind, in my opinion, is when a dog has lived in a loving home for years and then is neglected and abandoned by its owners as if they were never a member of the family.
The poor dog will realize that something is wrong even if he won’t be able to comprehend what happened to him or why his owner abandoned him.
This puppy, regrettably, has experienced that circumstance more than once, so he comprehended what had happened to him the second time, but he still believed the owner would return to get him.
Although that is regrettably not going to occur, a good-hearted woman chose to call rescuers for assistance after seeing this stray puppy.
Abandoned By Everyone
The rescuers learned a lot about him when they arrived to take him up. They were informed that he had been sleeping in the same place for three weeks after his owners had abandoned him.
Despite the extreme cold, he refused to move. In order to keep him warm, the generous woman who initially reported him wrapped him in a coat.
Since he was an elderly dog, he didn’t have much strength left. He had grief in his eyes when the rescuers took a close look at him.
The fact that he had been waiting there for three weeks astounded everyone. They took him to a veterinarian so they could check him after this shock.
The dog was simply quiet during the examination. It was evident to them that he was still deeply devastated by what had occurred to him.
He was famished and dehydrated, the veterinarians discovered. He also had some liver problems.
Horrible News For Bucks
The devastating news came when they had to perform a CT scan on him.According to the scan, the puppy had a tumor on his head and in his ear.
Everyone experienced severe grief upon hearing this. Why must this happen when this poor puppy has already endured so much suffering?
His rescuers soon discovered more information about him. It turned out that he had previously had two families. When he was seven years old, his first owners left him.
He was picked up by new owners after they abandoned him at the shelter. Six years later, though, his new owners repeated the same action, and this time the poor puppy found himself homeless.
The vets were thinking about what they could do for the dog. Surgery was simply too risky for him since he was too elderly. However, they soon discovered a tumor on his chest as well.
This only made everything more difficult. The rescuers wanted to help this puppy, who was now named Bucks, since they loved him, but they were at a loss for what to do.
Since there was no hope of success and he deserved to live out his remaining years with some satisfaction, it was decided not to pursue any of the therapies.
Bucks Enjoyed His Last Days
Bucks was taken home and given care by his rescuers. He had the opportunity to eat delicious meals, go for walks in the park, and generally have fun.
They tried to make it easier for him to handle by giving him some medicines, even though he became weaker. They soon discovered that the tumor had spread widely and that the medicines had little effect.
Although his rescuers made an effort to show him love and tranquility, his time was running out. All they felt was heartbreak. This wasn’t fair to Bucks.
But when the time came, Bucks went over the rainbow bridge in peace, surrounded by those who had always loved and cared for him.
The fact that he was able to spend his final days with those who genuinely loved him brought some solace despite the difficulties in his life.
