Jaina and Ivy Spagis had no idea that they were going to alter the life of a priceless furry animal when they pulled at the Starbucks drive-thru in San Bernardino, California, to grab a treat.
A big dog suddenly materialized in front of the pair as they were making their way to the window.
With her tail between her knees, the white and gray puppy sprinted through the drive-thru. She appeared lost and scared.
The pair was shocked to see something hanging from the dog’s neck after giving her a closer inspection.
The dog appeared to have a pair of jeans tied around its neck.
The Frightened Pup Accepts Help
Spagis and her spouse have prior experience with animal rescue as the founders of the Cats of San Bernardino rescue.
Determining to save the dog, the couple approached the puppy cautiously.
When they saw the dread and grief in the dog’s eyes, they became extremely depressed.
The dog, who was subsequently given the name Bette Davis, appeared to be looking frantically for her owners in the parking lot.
Bette began wagging her tucked tail as she stepped away from the rescuers when she saw them approaching. Her terror was far greater than her want to trust them.
The rescuers continued speaking to Bette in a soft manner as they approached her.
Bette felt the good humans were there to help, and at last they were able to close in on the dog.
The dog licked Bette’s hands as soon as Spagis knelt down to touch her.
Bette laid on her back and begged the generous rescuers to stroke her belly, feeling that she could trust them.
The puppy lapped up all of their cuddles because she needed love and assurance more than ever.
Betty Is Off To A New Start
After stroking her head and escorting her to a secure location, the rescuers gave her a cup of whipped cream.
When Bette’s rescuers untied the thing from her neck while she was sipping her Puppuccino, they discovered it was a hoodie.
Bette jumped into her rescuer’s automobile as soon as she finished her cup of whipped cream.
After driving her to the veterinarian, the couple found out that Bette had a microchip after scanning her.
The dog’s owner was contacted by the rescuers. They hoped she would soon be reunited with them and that the dog was a cherished member of her family.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t true. The rescuers were devastated after contacting the dog’s owner.
Today, we managed to get in touch with the owner, who informed us that he had moved away and was unable to accept her. He replied, “No,” when we asked if he wanted her back. Cats of San Bernardino posted on Instagram.
The good-hearted rescuers turned to Bette.Hope and thankfulness filled her tender blue eyes.
Searching For A Loving Home
The couple made her a promise that they would find her the perfect home and that she would live a life filled with love.
Since their rescue wasn t equipped for dogs, Spagis and her wife couldn t take Bette in.
They found her a wonderful foster family who took great care of her for a week.
During that time, the couple arranged a space for Bette at the facility and they were happy to take the delightful dog under their care.
Bette felt glad to reunite with her rescuers. She feels much better. Her eyes are filled with happiness, and her tail wags constantly.
The wonderful California girl still hasn t found her forever home.
She has received a lot of applications and we re sure that she will soon find her perfect match. Bette deserves someone who will love her with their whole heart and who will never give up on her.
