After being discovered wandering a busy roadway, Stella joined the Associated Humane Popcorn Park Shelterteam in Forked River, New Jersey.Her owner chose to leave her and drive away permanently, which is how she wound up there.

Both Times Were Bad Luck
The phone finally rung after two arduous years at the shelter! And it was eventually about Stella—you guessed it!
Everyone believed it was over when an adopter showed up at the shelter to pick up this adorable girl. But barely a few days later, Stella was given back.
A few days later, the same thing occurred.
This devoted dog was unable to maintain her position in her adopters’ household for reasons she could not comprehend. Her owner was unable to manage her on a leash the first time since she was elderly. Her family’s allergies were the cause of the second incident.
Returned after adoption. Returned after adoption. And all of that in a matter of days! (No, Stella did not act improperly. The New Jersey shelter noted, “Allergies were involved one time, a change of heart the next time.”
It was painful to watch this eager puppy return twice to the same old kennel after at last finding her happy home!
What’s the worst part?It was simply lousy luck. Stella’s misbehavior wasn’t the reason she kept going back to the shelter.
She is currently getting used to being a shelter dog once more. She still holds out hope, though, that one day she will be paired with the ideal person in a home full of love and limitless adventures.
