Runner Couldn’t Contain Shock After Stumbling Upon A Cardboard Box Containing Furry And Bald Animals
Brigette Brouillard goes for a trail run whenever she needs a respite from her phone and animals.
Three kilometers into her run, she made the incredibly haphazard discovery of a huge cardboard box off the trail.
She glanced inside as she couldn’t just stroll by it. She was shocked to discover that the box contained six small, hairless, fuzzy critters!
Little, defenseless animals still managed to get to Brigette even if she wished to take a brief vacation from them.
I forgot to explain that Brigette is the Executive Director of Second Chances Wildlife Center, a nonprofit dedicated to wildlife conservation via education and rehabilitation.
I suppose there couldn’t have been a greater person to preserve these animals.
A Very Random Discovery
Brigette’s instincts took over and she had to look into a cardboard box that had been turned on its side with the top open.
Fortunately, she did, as these creatures at Kentucky’s Cherokee Park most likely wouldn’t have survived on their own without her.
The parcel included six guinea pigs, both hairless and fuzzy.Although they are slightly smaller, the hairless ones—known as skinny pigs—have a faster metabolism.
Guinea pigs are not indigenous to Kentucky, according to Brigette, and if she hadn’t discovered them at that time, they would have either perished from starvation or been devoured by a dog or other animal.
According to Brigette, they might have believed they would be safe at Cherokee Park or hoped someone would discover them.In any event, I grabbed the package and left the route.
She chose to flag someone down and ask for a ride because the package was too large and a little too heavy for her to carry three miles back to her car on foot.
Fortunately, she and her six chatty guinea piggies were taken to her car by a friendly man.
The unfortunate creatures were presumably extremely perplexed by all that was going on, but they were also grateful that they were spared certain death.
A Very Happy Ending
After bringing the six Guinea pigs to her house, Brigette fed and rewarded them.
She found the ideal home for each of them really quickly because of her wide-ranging contacts.
Many people were drawn to her social media post about her bizarre rescue tale, asking if they might be of any assistance.
Since Guinea pigs are very social creatures, Brigette was ableto adopt them in pairs.
Every guinea pig has found a forever home. They went to amazing families with experience and none of the piggies had to go by themselves, she wrote in her updated post.
They will hopefully live a happy life with their new families.
