Following storms earlier that month, the employees of the North Carolina shelter Fayetteville Animal Protection Society arrived at work on Sunday to find something quite strange.
A litter of cute puppies was waiting for them to bring them into the warm and secure shelter in front of their door.
They discovered a handwritten note that pierced their hearts as the staff helped them inside.

An amazing homeless man who chose to preserve these babies in spite of his own struggles wrote the note.He took care of a local stray who had these pups, but once she passed away, he realized he had to take care of her offspring.

Please assist! Sadly, I discovered these puppies after spotting a local stray dog **** by the road that I frequently fed when I could. A car had struck her. She had puppies someplace, as I knew from feeding her, and I located them after looking in the typical places for me to see her. I apologize for abandoning children in this manner, but I am homeless and unable to provide for them. For them and their mother, my heart breaks. All I want is for them to have the opportunity that their mother, like me, was never given. It felt horrible to leave children waiting for a mother who would not be returning home, but please don’t think poorly of me. Regards, anonymous dude.
The staff at the shelter in North Carolina was deeply touched by this note and resolved to locate these babies the finest forever home possible.
