Shelter Staff Was In Disbelief After This Family Surrendered 2 Healthy Dogs For Euthanasia

No such thing as a broken dog exists. It always comes down to the situation, the care, and the amount of love and work you put into making it a good dog.

Unfortunately, this viewpoint is not held by all owners. Some give up at the beginning, leaving their furry friends to meet a tragic end.

This heartbreak was recently experienced by Godric and Sadie. Both of them were turned in, and their owners requested that the shelter put them to death.

Godric s Backstory

This tragic tale was posted on social media by Davis, California-based Hearts For Paws.

A family brought their three-year-old Chocolate Lab, Godric, to Solano County Animal Care with the startling request to put him down. The family claims that Godric bit their infant as a kind of misbehavior.

According to the rescue’s Instagram post, they brought Godric, a three-year-old chocolate lab, in and informed them that he had bitten the infant that had gotten into his food bowl.

The shelter thought their narrative was strange because Godric had never acted out since he had arrived. He behaved flawlessly among both his caregivers and strangers, and he was just as adorable as he appeared.

The shelter was unable to justify the family’s plea, despite the fact that they never denied the horrific catastrophe had occurred. They expressly requested that Godric be put to death rather than being rehomed or just turned over to a shelter.

Thankfully, the shelter rejected this request after realizing his character.

Then came even another devastating revelation!

Another Heartbreaking Surprise

Godric had a lovely interaction with another dog one day while he was out with his caregivers. The two sniffed and wiggled their tails as if they knew each other.

Later, they had a startling epiphany. Godric greeted Sadie, a six-year-old Plott Hound who had arrived from the same family only a month before, with joy.

Surprisingly, Sadie’s family had also requested the same thing. She supposedly growled at their infant, so they wanted her put down.

Before Godric was contentedly adopted into a new family, the dogs spent some time together, enjoying happy times.

Sadie was a wonderful dog, but unfortunately, her circumstances were not perfect. She was one of the oldest shelter inhabitants, always ignored by everyone, and had missed the chance to be adopted with her previous sibling.

Sadie continues to hope that her new family will arrive soon in spite of everything.

In Fortuna, California, she was recently moved to Miranda’s Rescue, where she is awaiting a fresh start. Sadie undoubtedly deserves a family that will love and accept her after all the heartache she has experienced.

I hope that occurs soon!
