A 76-year-old woman fell victim to a deceitful robbery inside a church at 268 Wadsworth Avenue, as reported by the New York City Police Department. The crime occurred in broad daylight on Tuesday, around 3:00 pm, raising concerns about safety in places traditionally considered sanctuaries.
An unidentified female suspect engaged with the elderly victim inside the church. In a cunning act, the suspect managed to stealthily remove the woman’s wallet and then hastily fled the scene, heading southbound on Wadsworth Avenue towards West 186th Street. The suspect was last seen wearing a black and white hat and a black jacket and is described as having a medium complexion.
