A small puppy that appeared to be the runt of the litter was encountered by the staff of Barrow County Animal Control one day.
His mother consistently rejected him due to his gaping fontanelle. In an attempt to assist him, his owners concluded that it would be best to turn him over to the shelter so that he could receive care.
Regretfully, the puppy wasn’t doing well. He was famished and very dehydrated. Additionally, the veterinarians thought that he may have experienced a seizure while traveling to them. They had to take special care of him because of this.
Hang In There, Sweet Boy
The dog received the prescription drugs he need from the medical staff. They also built him a comfortable bed so he could rest at last.
Unfortunately, the pup’s condition did not improve as a result of this. The puppy became unable to control his appetite as the days passed. He also had trouble breathing and experienced multiple convulsions.
In the hopes that it would assist, the veterinarians put him in an oxygen chamber. The shelter personnel named him Stewie and watched him closely, always ready to help if needed.
At last, the dog started to feel better. The physicians chose to feed him every two hours because he was able to keep his formula down. They were able to keep him nourished and hydrated in this way without overburdening his stomach.
After doing countless tests on him,the medical staff was finally able to determine what was wrong with him. Stewie’s roundworms were completely grown.
The veterinarians were relieved to finally understand what they were dealing with, despite the fact that this diagnosis was difficult.
Unfortunate News
He was put on deworming medication right away by the veterinarians, and this has helped him get rid of all the parasites.
The veterinarians were aware that he was still in danger even after administering all the required drugs. They wouldn’t give up on him, though. They gave him constant love and attention, providing him with round-the-clock care.
Six days later, Stewie was still not feeling well.He even stopped breathing at one point. Luckily, one of the vets was able to resuscitate him, saving his life.
This adorable boy had convulsions and vomiting for days. Until one day, he stopped breathing again. This time, the vets were not able to save him. The entire Barrow County Shelter was left heartbroken.
But, at least they knew thatStewie crossed the rainbow bridge knowing he was loved.
His unfortunate story reminds us how important the jobs of rescuers and vets are. They will stop at nothing to try and help animals in need. But sadly, they aren t miracle workers. A big thank you to every person who tried their best to help this sweet boy, every animal lover in the world appreciates you!
