This Tiny Chihuahua Lived With 40 Other Canines In A Trailer Until Kind People Decided To Help Him

The Houston Humane Society saved more than 40 dogs from a terrible hoarding situation in which they were all housed in a dilapidated trailer surrounded by waste and filth.

Toothless, a senior Chihuahua, was also one of the dogs.

It should come as no surprise that Toothless was extremely ferocious and distrustful given the terrible living circumstances and everything these poor canines endured.

But things soon changed as a generous woman chose to adopt him and give him a shot.

Toothless Story

At the time of the rescue, this young canine was extremely untamed and distrustful, indicating that he and all the other dogs had had very little human contact in their lives, according to Madeleine Cantrell, Toothless’ mother from Houston.

Their living conditions and the location were utterly appalling. They most likely had to struggle for the little food they had, and the trailer was literally overflowing with trash and excrement.

Toothless kept growling and barking at everyone once he got to the shelter in Houston. He even tried to bite anybody who tried to hold him.

After learning about the dogs’ tragic tale, Madeleine, who has long worked with the Houston shelter, couldn’t help them.

He just had no idea how to communicate with others.All he felt was fear.

Madeleine wanted to foster him and give this unfortunate puppy another chance even though he didn’t make a good first impression.

She gave him the moniker Toothless after they found that he was toothless and coated with fleas.

From Feral To Loving

Everything began to change when Madeleine brought Toothless home.

At first, he was running from her out of fear, and he tried to gum her a little a couple of times, but the next morning,he was already a completely different dog.

When she held him for the first time, she could see that he didn t know what love actually looked like.

However, he was a totally different dog the following day. I brought him to work with me again, and he was pawing at my legs because he wanted to be held,Madeleine said.

It seemed like over the course of 24 hours,his heart softened, and he actually realized that he liked to be loved by someone.

A couple of days later, Madeleine officially adopted Toothless and now they are inseparable.

Today, Toothless is living his best life ever. He loves his mom and isvery clingy and protective of her.

He is still undergoing treatment for heartworm, but as for his eyes, they are not sure what happened to them. Otherwise, he is a healthy and happy senior dog.

Often people are so willing to overlook dogs like that. I just think that they are so grateful to their adoptive families and it s gonna be the best love you will ever know,Madeleine concluded.
