On its website, New YorkTrump Mobile, the phone and cellular service provider that the Trump Organization founded, no longer states that its next smartphone would be manufactured in the United States.
According to the Internet Archive’s captures of the company’s website, the Made in USA claim was removed on or around June 22. According to the firm, American ideals were taken into consideration when designing the T1 8002 phone as of June 25. According to screenshots captured by CNN earlier in June and archived versions of the website from June 18, the website previously claimed that the phone was made in the USA.The change was reported by The Vergefirst.
The updated wording follows criticism from industry analysts who questioned the phone’s American provenance, pointing out that its specs were similar to those of a Chinese phone.
A Trump Mobile representative informed CNN that the T1 phones are proudly built in America, despite the site’s altered wording.

According to the statement, speculation to the contrary is just untrue.
The $499 gold-colored phone will be proudly created and made in the United States, according to the press release from the Trump Organization last week unveiling Trump Mobile.
On June 16, Trump Mobile partner Pat O. Brien made the official announcement from Trump Tower: “We are going to be doing phones that we are going to build in America.” However, Eric Trump later stated that ultimately all phones might be manufactured in the United States of America in a tape from a talk with Benny Johnson, a conservative television figure.
In the past, Ryan Reith, group vice president for the Worldwide Device Tracker at the International Data Corporation, told CNN that words like “designed” and “built” are quite ambiguous. Because of this, it is difficult to determine exactly which steps of the phone manufacturing process would have been carried out in the United States. For instance, Apple designs its phones in California but uses parts from foreign suppliers to construct them in places like China and India.
According to Trump Mobile’s website, the phone is made in the United States of America.
When Trump Mobile was revealed last week, Reith stated that there (are) no phones that are actually being manufactured in the US from beginning to end.
Additionally, the Trump Mobile website states that some of the T1 8002 phone’s specifications have changed. Although the website currently states that the phone has a 6.25-inch screen, the original listing stated that it had a 6.78-inch screen. Like the distinction between an iPhone 16 and an iPhone 16 Pro Max, there is a discernible size variation there. It is uncommon for a tech company to announce a phone and then make such a significant adjustment.
Additionally, the RAM of the phone—which stores app data and affects efficiency when moving between apps—is no longer listed by Trump Mobile.
Max Weinbach, an analyst at market research firm Creative Strategies, and Todd Weaver, CEO of Purism, one of the few known companies to actually manufacture a cell phone in the United States, separately told CNN earlier that they think the initially announced T1 phone resembles a version of the already-available Revvl 7 Pro 5G. The phone, which costs about $169 on Amazon, is manufactured by China-based Wingtech, a company that offers manufacturing services for smartphones and other items.
Trump, who is not involved in the day-to-day management of the Trump Organization, which is handled by his sons, has been lobbying tech companies like Apple and Samsung to manufacture their smartphones in the US, which coincided with the launch of Trump Mobile. Although experts have stated that producing phones domestically at scale is a difficult, if not impossible, endeavor, especially given the September timeline initially anticipated, the move is part of an effort to bring manufacturing jobs back to America.
Weaver previously stated that the Trump family cannot deliver on their promises unless they have surreptitiously established a safe, onshore or nearshore (fabrication) operation over years of effort without anybody noticing.
