Veterinarians Tried To Help This Puppy Who Was Surrendered Only To Learn What Was Really Going On
A puppy named Grace had no idea what the future held for her after being turned in by her owners, who could no longer pay her medical fees.
Grace’s only hope, given her severe illness and lack of a diagnosis, was to locate a caring family willing to go to whatever lengths to determine her condition.
Fortunately, the pawfect family was contacted by The Animal Pad, a non-profit, all-breed dog rescue in San Diego, California.
Easy Does It
It wasn’t easy for Grace to spend her first night in her new California home with all those unfamiliar faces.
She was completely exhausted and whimpered and whined most of the time while curled up in a heap of blankets. She used this to let the nice folks know that things wasn’t quite right.
We stayed up with her the entire night. Incredibly underweight, she was.The Dodo was told by Katie.
Grace just wasn’t interested in anything they were trying to feed her. But the family was ecstatic every time she managed to get a tiny morsel of food.
With each tiny bite, they encouraged her in the hopes that the next one would be much larger.
She went on to say, “She just made our day whenever she would wag her tail, which was rare.”
Coming Out Of The Shell
As time passed, Grace’s condition significantly improved due to the kind and joyful surroundings. She reverted to her puppy behavior!
But initially, she would simply lie down and play with her relatives. But she began running after receiving a ton of support from her family!
Grace had frequent trips to the veterinarian during her time in foster care. Everyone in her immediate vicinity was intent on learning the truth.
The medical staff made a breakthrough after repeated experiments. They discovered that Grace had not had any vaccinations from her breeders.She also suffered from a severe neurological condition called distemper.
Grace will have certain lifelong consequences as a result of this mistreatment, even though she is now a happy and healthy puppy.
She claimed she could live with her little bobbing, ticking head, which was very continuous.
A Foster Failure
Her foster family simply couldn’t imagine leaving Grace after spending so much time with her and seeing her develop into a gorgeous puppy.
Together, we truly experienced something. My family and I supported her during these difficult times. “I just adore her,” Katie continued, “and it’s really rewarding to see her just be a happy dog full of life now.”
The best and simplest choice her family has ever made was to adopt this lovely girl.
In the present day, Gracie is leading the most ideal existence imaginable.She is enjoying the most delicious foods, the coziest naps, and charming playdates with the most amazing people.
