Timely decisions can sometimes save lives in addition to producing the finest results!
Petey, the stray, most likely wouldn’t have survived on his own that day if it weren’t for a courageous woman.
When a chance traveler noticed this small puppy cowering beneath a tree in Garden Grove, California, he was too terrified to allow anyone to approach him.
The passenger shared the picture of Petey on social media in an attempt to calm him down, but it was enough for a big-hearted woman to jump into what ended up saving his life!
I Knew He Wouldn t Make It Through The Night
After seeing Petey’s picture, Suzette Hall, a longtime Logan’s Legacy rescuer from Irvine, California, made the decision to act.
She was really concerned about this small puppy because he was undoubtedly incapable of protecting himself, and one of the locals had previously informed her that there were several coyotes in the area where Petey was hiding.
The poor infant believed he was safe there, but he was not because of the coyotes. On her Facebook page, Suzanne said, “I knew he wouldn’t make it through the night.”
Anxious And Timid, Petey Needed Time To Calm Down
When Hall arrived at the location, she saw that Petey had been sitting there for a while. He seemed to be trying to protect himself while also searching for his family.
Because Petey was simply too nervous and afraid to be addressed by anyone, the rescue attempt didn’t quite proceed as intended. Then Hall tried something else!
On either side of the field where Petey was hiding, she placed two humane traps with dog food inside, and then stepped back far enough to allow him to find his way to them.
Although it took him a while, Petey eventually entered in and was at last secure!
He was around my trap, famished. Too afraid to walk to the back of my trap, he would stretch his small legs as far as he could. He extended his small legs once again. Then he showed courage. He wrote Suzette after gaining courage.
Transforming Into The Sweetest Lovebug
Petey had a while to settle down, but after a while he relaxed and let Hall to pet him. He changed into the cutest lovebug the moment he felt a hooman’s soft touch!
Hall made the decision to take Petey to the veterinarian first thing in the morning and sleep in the car with him because it was already late in the evening.
In an attempt to locate his family, she even sent the picture of him to Garden Grove Lost Dogs, Cats & Pets, but nobody responded.
After being placed in foster care, Petey miraculously transformed into the cutest puppy ever! He cherished every second spent with his foster family and his new dog siblings while he waited for a forever home.
As it turns out, Petey only needed a little affection and one well-timed decision to be happy!
