Woman Shocked To Discover The Secret That A Sad Dog On The Side Of Mississippi Road Was Hiding
There should never be any grief in a dog’s life, much less the anguish that a courageous mother dog had to go through.
The doggo and her small newborn puppies were left on the side of the road when she most needed human sympathy.
Despite her heartbreak, the mother dog found the strength to take care of her puppies. She encircled them with her paws, hoping to keep them safe.
The dog didn’t give up hope despite the fact that many people ignored her and walked by her. her continued to hope that her and her puppies would be saved by a kind person.
Saving Lives
Valerie Hicks was on her way to Community Animal Rescue & Adoption (CARA), an animal shelter where she serves as board president, in December 2024 when she noticed an odd sight.
In Mississippi, there appeared to be a furry creature resting inside an open container by the side of the road.
Hicks screamed to a halt and quickly recognized the fuzzy creature as Mama Evelyn, an abandoned dog.
She hurried to see what was happening.
Hicks was startled to discover the secret she was concealing the once she looked more closely at the doggo.
Seven newborn pups were cuddled near their mother, begging for her warmth and affection.
When Hicks learned that the eighth puppy had not survived, she was devastated.
The rescuer could feel Mama Evelyn’s helplessness as she gazed at Hicks with sorrowful eyes.
Hicks consoled the mother dog when she called her rescue partner, Christina, for assistance.
Though she was still worried about her kids, the sad dog finally began to understand that Hicks was there to support her.
Mom had the saddest eyes I’ve ever seen, and she was really anxious. However, she also appeared to be really appreciative, Hicks told The Dodo.
The staff created a peaceful area for the puppies to relax in after Mama Evelyn brought them to the shelter.
Carefree Life In A Foster Home
A kind foster family volunteered to take the dog family home and provide them with loving care shortly after the shelter found them.
Mama Evelyn took care of her puppies’ needs, including nursing them.
One of the greatest mothers ever is this girl. The puppies are healthy and robust, and they nurse virtually nonstop. CARA posted on Facebook that they are in total milk comas when they are not breastfeeding.
The doggo first had some mistrust of people because of the horrible event she had gone through.
But because she was loved so much in her foster family, her own charming personality began to show.
The puppies’ development impressed the shelter.
As they continue to develop and flourish, the puppies love spending time with their mother.
The dog family will begin searching for a home in Maine in February 2025 when they travel to CARA’s foster-based rescue partner.
It is my hope that Mama Evelyn and her adorable puppies will soon find forever homes that will adore them unconditionally.
